GLASS HAMMER

PRODUCTIONS

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?

At Glass Hammer Productions, we don’t just film stand-up, we make it cinematic.

We use high-end film cameras, creative angles, textured lighting, and immersive sound design to build a world around your words. Not glossy. Not network-polished. Real. Intimate. Unforgettable.

Glass Hammer is led by Michael Malone, a touring comedian with 20+ years on the road and credits that include Showtime, Comedy Central, FOX, Hulu, and two award-winning specials currently streaming on Amazon. He's lived it. Now he films it.

Comedy isn’t just punchlines. It’s rhythm. It’s heartbreak. It’s everything you’re brave enough to say out loud. We treat it that way.

From early brainstorms to final cuts, we work with you to shape a special that feels like yours. We also offer customizable packages, from full productions to material punch-up and story shaping, whatever it takes to find the heartbeat inside the hour.

You built the hour.
We’ll help you capture it like it deserves.

DOCUMENTARIES.

Every great documentary starts with a compelling idea. At Glass Hammer Productions, we work closely with you to refine the concept, shape the core message, and build a narrative arc that captivates your audience.

We dive deep, gathering information, conducting interviews, and unearthing authentic stories that bring emotional depth to your project. Through our unique cinematography techniques, we bring your story to life with stunning visuals that are as textured and immersive as the subjects themselves. We don't just capture footage, we capture feeling.

Sound design plays just as critical a role. We carefully craft musical scores and soundscapes that heighten the emotion, set the tone, and pull audiences deeper into your world.

Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. Throughout the process, we work side by side with you, honoring your vision while elevating it through cinematic storytelling.

Together, we’ll create a documentary that doesn’t just inform, it resonates, lingers, and leaves a lasting impact.

TOUR PHOTOGRAPHY

We capture more than just the show, we capture the journey. From green rooms to late-night diners, from backstage nerves to standing ovations, our tour photography tells the full story of life on the road.

BEHIND THE SCENES

We capture the real story behind the story. From first call to final cut, our behind-the-scenes footage gives an intimate, cinematic look at the making of feature films, the chaos, the craft, and the quiet moments that never make it to the screen.

At Glass Hammer Productions, we don’t just document the process, we tell a parallel story of creativity, collaboration, and what it really takes to bring a film to life.

FEATURE AND SHORT FILMS

We don’t just tell stories. We build worlds, one frame at a time. At Glass Hammer, we make films that live in the quiet spaces, textured, intimate, and unafraid to get personal. Feature-length or short form, every project is crafted with raw emotion, bold direction, and a commitment to truth over polish.

MEET MICHAEL MALONE

Glass Hammer Productions was founded by award-winning director and comedian Michael Malone.

With nearly 20 years of experience touring as a stand-up comedian and a deep background in narrative filmmaking, Michael brings a rare, insider’s perspective to capturing live comedy.
He applies the same cinematic techniques used in feature films — thoughtful framing, textured lighting, emotional storytelling — to elevate the way stand-up is seen and felt on screen.

Michael co-wrote, starred in, and directed his debut feature film Bethlehem in 2016, which earned 16 awards and nominations on the festival circuit, including “Best Dark Comedy,” “Best Feature Film,” and “Best Screenplay.” Following that success, he wrote, starred in, and directed the award-winning short film Smashing Pumpkins, which brought home multiple honors, including “Best Comedy.”

Transitioning into live performance capture, Michael directed his first stand-up comedy special, Laugh After Death, which garnered over 2 million views on Amazon Prime and landed on their “Must-Watch Comedy” list.

In 2021, he created, hosted, and directed the five-part series Monsters, where stand-up comedians not only performed on stage but sat down for intimate, one-on-one conversations about the personal trauma behind their punchlines.
Later that year, he directed Ken Garr’s debut one-hour special American Hero, now streaming on YouTube with over 50K views and featured in Forbes magazine.

In 2022, Michael directed his second award-winning stand-up special, Wait & See, which earned the title “Best Stand-Up Comedy Special of 2022.”

Today, Michael continues to direct, film, and shape comedy specials, talk shows, and documentaries, including a slate of new original content for the upcoming streaming network Brad Garrett Presents.

Through Glass Hammer Productions, Michael’s mission remains clear:
To capture comedy not just as entertainment, but as art, textured, cinematic, and unforgettable.
